Village of Diller

 

The regular meeting of the Diller Village Board was held on June 14, 2010 with the following Board Members present Behrends, Sandman, Novotny, and Barnts.  Nelson was absent.  Chairman noted posting of Open Meetings Act.  Ron Starr also attended meeting.

 

The following motions were approved by Diller Village Board:

 

Sandman moved to accept Minutes of previous meeting as read; Treasurer’s Report and bills as presented by consent agenda; seconded by Barnts.  Novotny moved to pay NE Rural Water $150 for help in locating water shut-offs within Village; seconded by Barnts. 

 

Ron Starr, Star-Buckow Agency stated that Builder’s Risk Policy has been activated for Fire Hall. Review was made of Village current insurance. New snow blade and tilt trailer will be added to coverage and old snow blade will be taken off.  Motion was made by Sandman to pay Star Buckow Agency $9,383 renewal premium for Village insurance; seconded by Barnts. 

 

Sandman moved to approve amended contract with Village of Diller and Rural Board for use of Fire Hall stating Rural Board will pay all life insurance for volunteer firemen, and Village of Diller and Rural Board will each pay one-half of cell phone cost for ambulance; seconded by Novotny. 

 

Novotny moved to approved increase in price of Fire Hall building due to required changes and additions thus contract with Home Resource, LLC was increased from $75,036.02 to $92,733.00; seconded by Barnts. 

 

Novotny moved to allow Chairman to sign contract with Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging to use Community Building as Nutrition site for Senior Citizens; seconded by Sandman. 

 

Sandman moved to accept bid from Inland Potable Services, Inc to apply epoxy repair to exposed area’s of corrosion on water tower at a cost of $2,950 plus cost of epoxy; seconded by Novotny. 

 

Applications for Griffin’s Area Housing Rehabilitation are being processed – verifying income and completing work write-ups. 

 

Resident was sent letter regarding dog loose.  Interlocal Agreement was sent for Responsible Charge; however, employer declined offer; Village will continue contacting qualified RC.  Two bids for concrete handicap parking in front of Community Building will be included in grant to be submitted to State; discussed soliciting donations to concrete all of parking area. One resident sent certified letter to mow property.   It was determined that if late fees are not paid with utility payment, fees will be added to following month’s utility bill.

 

Sandman moved to adjourn; seconded by Barnts.  All Board Member in favor; motion carried.  The next meeting of the Diller Village Board will be held on July 12, 2010 at 7:30 PM at the Community Building.
