Village of Diller
The regular meeting of Diller Village Board was held on April 14, 2008. Chairman Behrends noted posting of Open Meetings Act. Roll Call showed Board Members present: Kunc, Behrends, Engelman, and Novotny. Sandman was absent. Members of Senior Class, J.Barnts, B.Roelfs, and G.Crannell, were also in attendance.
The following motions were approved by Diller Village Board:
Novotny moved to accept, Minutes of 3/10/08 with addition to motion made to transfer funds from General Fund to Street Fund, Park Fund, and Community Fund be retroactive to 9/30/07, and approved minutes of 3/31/08, 04/05/08 and 04/07/08 meeting, Treasurer’s Report and bills as presented by consent agenda; seconded by Engelman.
Members of Diller-Odell Senior Class gave two presentations on projects for Park Shelter. Engelman moved to approve painting roof of shelter and picnic tables and pay for expenses not covered by donations; seconded by Novotny. Kunc moved to approve painting bathrooms and paint lines on Basketball and Tennis Courts with Village pay for expenses not covered by donations; seconded by Engelman.
Novotny moved to approve variance requested by J.Barnts for garage at 202 Laramie St. to change set back from 20’ to 10’; seconded by Engelman.
Novotny moved to allow Park Committee to purchase items and bill them to Village until which time Park Committee receives funding and will reimburse village; seconded by Engelman.
Kunc moved to allow Dave Lottman Excavating to dig out ditches from park west at a cost of $2,500; seconded by Engelman.
“Notice of Release of Funds” from DED was received. Novotny, therefore, so moved to approve Professional Services/Consultant Agreement with Hanna:Keelan Associates and authorize Chairman Behrends to sign Agreement; seconded by Engelman.
Chairman Behrends stated Maintenance Supervisor position had been offered and declined. After discussion Kunc moved to interview two more candidates on April 19, 2008; seconded by Engelman.
Discussed concrete pad for recycling trailer; Item tabled. Food Stand. No new information; Item tabled. No new information on Meints/Day abandon vehicles; Item tabled. Abandon/Junked vehicle Ordinance was reviewed; Item tabled. Discussed funding for Firehall and village streets. Project would need to be on ballot in November 2008. Item Tabled.
J.Novotny had requested Utility Room at Community Building be locked. BRAAA will have a key. Street lights will be replaced. Clean Up Day has been tentatively set for Saturday, June 7, 2008.
Kunc moved to adjourn; seconded by Engelman. All Board Members in favor; motion carried. The next regular meeting of the Diller Village Board will be held on May 12, 2008 at 7:30 PM at Community Building. L. Christ, Village Clerk

Special Meeting of Diller Village Board was held on April 19, 2008 at 12:00 noon. Chairman Behrends noted posting of Open Meetings Act. Roll Call showed Board Members present: Kunc, Behrends, and Engelman. Novotny and Sandman were absent.
Two candidates were interviewed for Maintenance Supervisor. A discussion held regarding qualifications and experience. Engelman moved to hire D.Ivie of Diller -- Starting date May 1, 2008; seconded by Kunc. All Board Members in favor; motion carried. Chairman Behrends will offer position to Mr. Ivie.
Engelman moved to adjourn; seconded by Kunc. All Board Members in favor; motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
