Village of Diller

 

The regular meeting of Diller Village Board was held on October 11, 2010.   Chairman noted posting of Open Meetings Act.  Roll Call showed Board Members present:  Behrends, Sandman, and Nelson with Barnts arriving later in meeting. Novotny was absent. J.Nelson, R.Starr and D.Ivie attended meeting.

 

Sandman moved to approve minutes of September 13, 2010 meeting, Treasurer’s Report, and bills as presented except two bills as work has not yet been completed.

 

Builder’s Risk Policy has been cancelled for Fire Hall.  Discussed insurance for Fire Hall and Community Building.  One building in park used for storage will carry only liability. 

 

Discussed water line break; Village water will be tested and residents informed when drinking water is safe.  Streets will be patched where needed; Discussed armor coating streets in spring.

 

Sandman moved to accept $120 from Behrends for safe removal and purchase of metal stand that was used for old heating/cooling unit at Community Building; seconded by Nelson.  All Board Members in favor; motion carried.

 

J. Nelson reported that trucks have been moved to new Fire Hall.  Recognized businesses and individuals who donated labor, equipment and/or materials for Fire Hall Project:  Doug & Cindy Lottman;  Lottman Carpenter Construction Inc; Rohr Excavating; Beatrice Concrete, and Ron Sasse. Letters of Thank You will be sent.  Sandman stated that Fire Hall Open House and Ribbon Cutting and are planned for November 7, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with Ribbon Cutting at 2:00 PM.

 

Sandman reported that funds in cash/pledges have been received for Community Building Parking Approach Project.  Since it has been over 90 days since bids were submitted, project should be rebid. Sandman moved to put out bids for remainder of Community Building Parking Approach to Con Pro, LLC and Lottman Carpenter Construction Inc.  Bids are to be submitted by meeting date of November 8, 2010 at 7:30 PM at which time all bids will be opened and considered; seconded by Nelson.  All Board Members in favor; motion carried.

 

Discussed efficiency test for well.  May have problem with bearing; Sargent Drilling will be contacted.   Maintenance Shop for Village will be moved to old Fire Hall but Village will continue to use current location.

 

Nelson moved to adjourn; seconded by Barnts.  All Board Members in favor; motion carried.  Meeting adjourned.

 

The next meeting of the Diller Village Board will be held on November 8, 2010 at 7:30 PM in the Community Building.
